The next regular meeting of the BEADLE COUNTY SPORTSMEN’S CLUB will be held on Tuesday, June 10th. Social hour will start at 6:00 p.m., with hors d`oeuvres starting at 6:15 pm. and supper served around 7:00 p.m.

MENU: Choice of grilled Rib Eye, pork chop, or boneless chicken breast, potatoes, salads, and dessert.

The 2024 shed antler contest was won by Emily Schutt with her 5 point whitetail shed

DEAR MEMBERS AND SPONSORS:

The next regular meeting of the BEADLE COUNTY SPORTSMEN’S CLUB will be held on Tuesday, May 13th. Social hour will start at 6:00 p.m., with hors d`oeuvres starting at 6:15 pm. and supper served around 7:00 p.m.

MENU: Firing up the Charcoal Grill! Choice of grilled Rib Eye, boneless pork chop, or boneless chicken breast, baked potatoes, salad, and dessert. Please pay as you enter the clubhouse so we can get a count for the grill and get your meal ticket. Deposit half your numbered meal ticket in the basket at the grill and a drawing will be held for a chance at a free meal. We need help in the kitchen following the meeting with clean up. Speaker: Steve Charron has been invited to speak

We are having a ‘sweatshirt raffle’ at the cost of $1 a chance. If you’re a winner, you’ll get a certificate to pick up your color choice and size at Signature Plus. We will also have a raffle board for a gun at the cost of $10 a chance.

We have a Perpetual Memorial Plaque at our clubhouse. Contact Sharon if you are interested in having your loved one’s name(s) engraved on a plate; the cost is $50 for each plate. We wish to keep this memorial to only names with ties to the Beadle County Sportsmen’s Club.

The Beadle County Sportsmen’s Club is looking for any student who has completed 8th grade, or is currently in the 9th, 10th or 11th grade in high school and is interested in conservation, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities. Apply for Youth Conservation Camp held June 1-7, 2025 at Camp Bob Marshall in the beautiful Black Hills. Download an application at South Dakota Wildlife Federation “camp” tab until May 1st. The KOKK Outdoot Sports Show will be held at the Norby 4-H building on the South Dakota State Fairgrounds on Saturday/Sunday, March 29 & 30. We’ll be serving grilled brats and hot dogs during lunch time both days for a free well donation.

Make plans to attend the Spring Bonanza Saturday, April 26, 2025. Need all tickets returned to Sharon by April 13th. Top prize $1,500; 2nd Prize – Wenonah Canoe w/accesories; 3rd Prize – Ruger Gen 2 223; 4th Prize – M&P Bodyguard 380. Tickets available at the April meeting @ $20 each. $25 Drawings throught the evening, along with blackjack, pick a duck, heads or tails, pay what you pull game, and popular hat raffle. If you have donations for our silent auction, you can bring them on Tuesday, or anytime during the year as we will store them until our bonanza.

The Big Buck/Bull/Lunker Contest winners: Plaques were awarded to Janey Cronin (Rifle Whitetail), Owen Pieck (Archery Mule Deer), Steve Frank; (Archery Elk), and Greg Hepper (Longest perch, crappie, or pan fish)

The Big Buck/Bull/Lunker Contest planned for our March 11th meeting. The contest is open to only members of the Beadle County Sportsmen’s Club, with an animal harvested in South Dakota in 2024. Plaques will be awarded in the following divisions: Rifle – Whitetail, Rifle – Mule Deer, Rifle – Antelope, Rifle – Elk, Archery – Whitetail, Archery – Mule Deer, Archery – Antelope and Archery – Elk. For our Fisherman: 1) Longest Walleye caught with hook and line 2) Longest walleye by other method, examples are bow, diving, etc. 3) Longest other game fish not a walleye, examples are paddle fish, salmon, northern pike, muskellunge, etc. 4) Longest any fish by hook and line, examples are carp, buffalo, etc. 5) Longest Bass 6) Longest perch, crappie, or pan fish species. Entries for the fish contest can be a photograph of your catch measured over a ruler with a witness statement or the mount can be presented.
